Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has welcomed the return of midfielder Gaston Sirino to the side, saying it’s a big boost not only for the match against Zamalek but also for their whole CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The Uruguayan was a notable absentee in Amakhosi’s opening Group D defeat to Al Masry in Egypt last week owing to suspension. The result saw Chiefs in third position in the pool just ahead of ZESCO United who have lost their opening two matches.
Sirino has two assists and one goal for the club across all competitions so far this season and Kaze said they will be banking on his experience in CAF competitions not only to get their campaign back on track.
“I think it’s a very good thing for us to have such a player coming back with the luggage that he has and the experience that he has at this stage of the competition” Kaze answered iDiski Times on the expected impact of the player’s return.
“Having won the Champions League previously it’s going to be helpful for us, for his teammates as well, for the team.
“And we hope that it’s going to give us the plus that we are looking forward to go until the end.”
