Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze has shared his thoughts on his side’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup this past weekend.
Amakhosi went into Matchday 6 at the top of the log but lost 2–1 to Zamalek on Saturday in Egypt.
With Al Masry securing a 2–0 win against Zesco United in the other match, the Egyptian side moved into second position, level on points with the Soweto giants but ahead on goal difference.
Kaze expressed his disappointment at losing in the manner they did, and how they gave respect to the opposition while also being critical of how his team conceded the two goals.

“First of all, I would say that it is a big disappointment for us, we’ve put a lot of time and effort in this competition,” said Kaze.
“We tried all we could, but I believe that today we didn’t get into the game with the right attitude and right mentality because I feel we did gave a lot to the opponents, time and space to create, we respected them a lot.
“The first goal that we conceded in the second half was coming from in front of the wall. The second goal too is avoidable. It’s a big disappointment for us, but that is football.”
Kaze believes they have grasped many lessons from the competition and will now shift their focus to the remaining campaign this season — the Betway Premiership.
“We need to take lessons from this and move on,” he added.
