Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema says his side is definitely not playing like rookies in the CAF Confederation Cup.
This is ahead of his side’s Group D clash with Stade Malien at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Sunday night (21:00). Ba Bina Noko come into the clash at the back of back-to-back wins in the Cup and the League.
The winner of this clash will stand a better chance of getting out of the group as they both have three points from two matches however the visitors are ahead in second spot with a healthier goal difference.
This is Sekhukune’s first time in an inter-continental championship even though there are players in the side with experience of playing in Africa at their previous clubs.
Seema says new as the side may be in the tournament that fact doesn’t give opposing sides sleepless nights whilst adding that the Limpopo side is learning but want to do that while winning.
“We know that we are learning but the other teams aren’t bothered whether you are learning or not they don’t care they just want to win games” said Seema.
“Us, while we are learning we want to win games. So it’s just to mention that whatever that happens in the game is a learning curve for us but while we are learning we have to win games.
“And we are not saying that because we are new we can just take any result that’s coming no, that is why we have been fighting for the past two games because we really want to make the club one of the teams in Africa where we can look at ourselves in future and say we managed to get up until the last stages of this competition”
“Yes that will remain, the fact that we are new but we are not playing like we are new. We are fighting and we are playing for maximum points. We are not going to say no we can lose here because we are new, no we are learning while we are fighting because we really, really want to do well in this competition”
“That will be good for the club and for the brand and also to reward the management after working so hard.
“To get to the group stage that means you have to played a lot of games and we cannot now at the group stage try to say we are new therefore we feel that something is not right no. We’ll fight until the end and we’ll give it a good shot that’s a promise.”
