SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has admitted that losing their second Group A match in the CAF Confederation Cup puts his side on the back foot.
Supersport lost 2-0 to defending champions USM Alger at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Sunday afternoon in a result that put the South African side at the bottom of the group with no points.
Before the match Hunt had spoken about the importance of winning home matches and he said the loss at home is going to make the upcoming fixtures very difficult.
“It’s difficult because there are four games left that are going to be very, very difficult,” said Hunt.
“And now that we’ve lost this game, especially going to this team away which is a very good team. Certainly got a lot more experience than we have you know size and physicality they’re good, so we’ll tackle that when we go there.
“But we got to go away this week so we’ll try and take a team away and try and have one eye on the game when we come back because we got to go to Libya. Nobody goes to Libya but we got to go there.
Matsatsantsa had chances to get on the score sheet in the game especially in the first half through Bradley Grobler and Shandre Campbell but they were let down by their finishing.
Hunt admits he is concerned that his charges have not been scoring in all competitions in the last couple of matches but he’s happy that they are creating chances.
“Yeah it’s a concern but as long as we keep making chances and we haven’t scored in about five games, I don’t think we have scored a goal.
“So it’s a concern but we’ve had a lot of opportunities even on Wednesday night we had a lot of opportunities so you just got to keep soldiering on with these types of things, there’s not much you can do about it.”
