AS Otoho head coach Sekou Seck has admitted that it’s difficult for his side to have travelled to South Africa for the CAF Confederation Cup match against Stellenbosch FC without two of their key players.
Captain Beranger Itoua is suspended for two matches following a red card he got during the preliminary rounds, while winger Wilfrid Nkaya is said to not have travelled due to administrative reasons.
The Congolese outfit will face Stellies in their opening Group C match in the tournament at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday (15:00).
Addressing the media in Polokwane on match day- 1 Seck said the two are important to the side but they are not the team alone.
“It’s very difficult for us to come here without the two best players but it’s the team,” Seck answered iDiski Times when asked about the duo.
“The team is not two players but the team is the team. We are very different when it comes to playing.”
The coach further said he has done analysis on Stellies and he thinks they are a good side, however Otoho are not in South Africa as tourists but to get a result.
“I’m happy to be in South Africa for a second time,” added Seck.
“The first time I came here with another club Stade Malien, we came to play with Sekhukhune [United] and I think here is like home.
“We know South African football, I think the match will not be easy but we are prepared for tomorrow. We are not here to be tourists we are coming to play to get some result here.
“I saw this team playing last year in Bamako. Stellenbosch is a good team but we are coming to make a result.”
