Pirates Provide Update On Lorch and Pule

Orlando Pirates have issued updates on attacking duo Thembinkosi Lorch and Vincent Pule ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Royal Leopards.

Pirates face the eSwatini side on matchday four of the Confederations Cup on Sunday afternoon and are currently second in Group B after trouncing their opponents 6-2 at Mbombela Stadium in the previous round.

And prior to opening up on their star performers, coach Mandla Ncikazi said all is not lost for their season despite their Soweto Derby defeat and Nedbank Cup exit at the hands of Marumo Gallants.

“We have a cup that is remaining the CAF Confederations Cup, We can still fight to get into position two as a team so that we can qualify for CAF Champions League next season and we focused on that and we will put our best effort in trying to achieve that,” Ncikazi said ahead of the game.

Lorch who just returned from injury was substituted mid-week when he suffered another setback in the Nedbank Cup last-16 loss.

“Thembinkosi Lorch is out, we not sure about his return how soon,” he added. “Pule is still out and those are the only two players out other than everybody else ready for selection.”

The Sea Robbers will face off against Leopards at the Orlando Stadium this afternoon with the intention of moving back to the summit of Group B.
