Sekhukhune United coach Lehlohonolo Seema says he doesn’t buy the story from his Diables Noirs counterpart Cyril Ndonga that the latter’s side hasn’t done their homework on their hosts ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup clash.
The two sides meet in a bottom-of-log Group D clash at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Sunday evening (21:00) after losing their opening matches to RS Berkane and Stade Malien respectively.
Ndoga said at the pre-match press conference that he knows nothing about Sekhukhune and they have not even watched any videos of Ba Bina Noko.
Seema who joined Sekhukhune this month said Ndonga is playing mind games and he is not falling for it.
“I don’t buy it when they say they don’t know us please,” said Seema.
“That team knows us very well. If you ask them after the game they will call them [Sekhukhune players] by their names and their first names and their media names.
“So we don’t. That is football. You cannot go to a game of this big magnitude without doing your homework. So it’s mind games and we are not going to fall for that”
Ndonga was asked how he prepared for the game if he claimed to not know anything about his opponents. The coach said video analysis doesn’t determine tactics used in a match adding that he has an idea of how South African teams play.
“The reliance on videos these days cannot determine the tactics that will be applied on the field. Stade Malien came to Congo and took three points and we will see what Sekhukhune will offer on the field and apply their techniques and deliver.
“We already have a vision of South African football because recently one of the coaches came to play with the U23s. South African soccer is more technical like Brazilians but they fail a bit physically. So we have a little vision about South African soccer.”
