Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema could not give an update regarding defender Nyiko Mobbie who was subbed early in the first half of their CAF Confederation Cup against Stade Malien on Sunday evening.
The Bafana-Bafana international appeared to have pulled a hamstring and was replaced by Katleho Mkhabela in the 28th minute as his side drew 0-0 with the Malian side in Group D at the Peter Mokaba stadium.
Seema said he will wait a report from the club’s medical team to know the full extent of Mobbie’s niggle.
“I haven’t got any information and I’ll get the information I’m sure once the medical team has looked at him,” said Seema.
Ba Bina Noko did not create a lot of chances and could not get a goal on the night a result that saw them remain in third position in the Group from three outings equal on four points with Malien who are in second spot but with a better goal difference.
Seema says he wasn’t surprised his charges didn’t create a lot of chances against a fresh side attributing that to the tight schedule the Limpopo side has been enduring.
“This team was very fresh. This team in their League all the teams have played 12 games and they are the only team that played only three games. They have only played three League games and three CAF games,” he explained.
“In those three CAF games they had seven days in between and in seven days us as Sekhukhune United we have played three 90 minutes, three games. And in those three games, we conceded one goal we scored four goals.
“If you can check this team, those three games that they played [were] on the 26th of November and on the 3rd of December and on the 10th of December which is today. So credit must go to the players.
“I think Sekhukhune players they fought it wasn’t easy. This team was fresh and even after refreshing the team having new players and trying to make sure that we tried to match them they still gave us problems. And thank God I’ll always mention the medical team and the fitness team because we only showed the lack of intensity in this last match which I understand as a coach.
“I think these guys are well-conditioned. We need to go back and try to recuperate as much as we can but I’m not surprised that we didn’t create a lot of chances like we wanted because of the things that I’ve just mentioned.
“This team I think for them I’m sure that they are not even happy that they didn’t win because I think they were good on the night. We fought.
“We’ll go back and try and refresh and hopefully when we get to Mali we can create more and we can even come up with points or even a point.”
