Carling Knockout Quarter-Final Draw Confirmed

The quarter-final fixtures for the 2023/24 Carling Knockout Cup have been confirmed after the draw took place in Tshwane on Sunday evening.

In what was a memorable first round of the competition, with Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs having already been eliminated as TS Galaxy and AmaZulu progressed to the last-eight of the domestic cup competition.

Last year’s third-place side SuperSport United also got stunned by Polokwane City at TUT Stadium, losing 4-0 on Sunday, while Cape Town City were also knocked out after losing 3-1 to Golden Arrows.

With R6.5-million on offer for the winners, the talk of the town has been the R100,000 for the Man of the Match winners, with many suggesting it’s brought increased performances from the stars of the South African top-flight.

Orlando Pirates, who have won every domestic cup trophy since the arrival of head coach Jose Riveiro will be licking their lips for another potential title, after they beat Cape Town Spurs 2-0 in Orlando on Friday evening.

Quarter-finals in full:

  • Polokwane City vs Stellenbosch FC
  • Sekhukhune United vs TS Galaxy
  • Richards Bay vs Orlando Pirates
  • AmaZulu vs Golden Arrows

The exact dates and venues for the quarter-finals are yet to be confirmed.

All roads lead to the Peter Mokaba Stadium on 6 January where the Carling Knockout champions will face off against the All-Star PSL XI voted by the fans.
