Kaizer Chiefs caretaker coach Cedric Kaze believes that midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa needed love to showcase his talent as he keeps on delivering great performances.
Mthethwa was close to leaving Chiefs at one stage when he was linked with a move to Magesi FC before the deal fell through at the eleventh hour on deadline day as he wanted to seek regular game time then.

“Ox” seems to have regained his form as he keeps on delivering good performances. Against Stellenbosch he ran through the entire 120 minutes winning every ball in the midfield despite Chiefs being eliminated from the Carling Knockout Cup. He walked away with the MOTM award against his former side.
When Kaze was asked what they had done to Mthethwa for him to be where he is now, he compared the love they gave him with the love of a girlfriend.
“I believe every player, it’s like when you have a girlfriend, she needs to feel loved,” he said.
“The player needs to feel loved. He needs someone to take care of him. He needs someone to support him, even when he’s in bad days, and when the confidence is there, then the player can express himself.
“And I believe that’s how the way that we have been working with him and the others and that’s only the result now.”
