Chiefs Aim To Extend Lead While Bucs, Stellies & SSU Target Wins

Kaizer Chiefs are hoping to maintain top spot while fireworks are expected between SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates in this weekend’s DStv Diski Challenge fixtures.

Sekhukhune United will begin life without Lizo Mjempu when they face Golden Arrows at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday morning after he was sacked with both sides desperate for points.

Runaway league leaders Chiefs welcome struggling Polokwane City at the Dobsonville Stadium. Amakhosi have won eight of their last nine matches and are currently sitting at the top of the table with 45 points after 19 matches. Rise and Shine on the other hand have won only one match in their last 10 games.

Second-placed Stellenbosch FC returns to the slaughterhouse of Idas Valley Sports Ground to face Magesi FC. The Cape Winelands side cannot afford to drop points at this stage, as they are currently one point behind Chiefs. Dikwena Tsa Meetse will be in beaming mood after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 and will look to make it two wins in a row.

The big clash is on Sunday between third-placed SuperSport United and fourth-placed Orlando Pirates. Matsatsantsa have blown hot and cold in their last three matches, managing to collect four points out of a possible nine. Pirates, however, have brought themselves back into the title race after five consecutive wins.

Mamelodi Sundowns are going through a rough patch and have collected just one point out of a possible nine, including losses against Magesi and Cape Town City.
