Sunday’s DStv Diski Challenges fixtures saw defending champions Kaizer Chiefs hammering Richards Bay 4-0 while Mamelodi Sundowns left it late to rescue a point.
The Glamour Boys struggled to break down the KwaZulu-Natal side and hardly created any clear-cut chances as the first period ended with both teams heading down the tunnel with the scores locked at 0-0.
Chiefs however upped the ante in the second period as Imaad Hendricks broke the deadlock in the 49th minute before supersub Neo Bohloko made it two in the 73rd minute. Bohloko then turned provider for Hendricks who completed his brace of the afternoon. Bohloko made it 4-0 in the 93rd minute as Amakhosi remain unmoved in fifth place but still have a game in hand.
In the earlier clash, the Brazilians were facing the jaws of defeat before in-form youngster Lebohang Bennet Mokoena scored late to salvage a point for the Brazilians.
In the KwaZulu-Natal Derby between Golden Arrows and Durban City, it was a share of the spoils as the tie ended 1-1 on the day. Ayanda Magubane opened the scoring for City in the 41st minute but Arrows rallied back in the second stanza just two minutes in through Sfundo Shezi.
There were no goals in the clash between Bahlabane Ba Ntwa and Dikwena Tsa Meetsi as the clash ended goalless.
