Kaizer Chiefs beat TS Galaxy on Sunday to return to the summit of the DStv Diski challenge league table.
Galaxy had lots of opportunities in the first half but failed to take them including an empty net miss from Seluleko Mahlangu. The Rockets kept on creating chances, but Chiefs goalkeeper Takalani Mazhamba remained the difference between the two sides.
A solitary goal from Manqoba Ozoemena was enough to seal the win for Chiefs against Galaxy. It took 76 minutes for the glamour boys to break the deadlock. Amakhosi moved to 58 points, one point above Stellenbosch FC with four games remaining.
Mamelodi Sundowns on the other side kept their title hopes alive after beating Chippa United 4-0. Onela Rulwana and Kutlwano Letlhaku were also on the scoresheet for Masandawana. Downs remain third place with 51 points, three games remaining.
Despite being out of the title race, Orlando Pirates defeated Polokwane City 1-0. Penalty from Mmatlou Sepale inside the 45th minute was enough for the Buccaneers to seal all the three points. They remained in fourth place with 47 points and two games remaining.
