Chiefs Stay Top, Downs Win Again & Pirates Drop Points In DDC

Kaizer Chiefs kept their place at the top despite a stalemate, Mamelodi Sundowns picked up another win and Orlando Pirates drop points in this weekend’s DStv Diski Challenge fixtures.

Sekhukhune United were the biggest winners of the weekend with a high scoring 5-1 thumping of Chippa United by 5-1 which moved Babina Noko to fifth place with nine points after six matches, while the Chilli Boys dropped to 13th place with only four points.

Cape Town City suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 3-0 away from home to Richards Bay. City sees themselves dropping to third place with a game behind.

Tlou Segolela’s Magesi FC continues to surprise people after holding Pirates to a goalless draw. Dikwena Tsa Meetsi only lost to Chiefs this season and played four draws which include against defending champions Stellenbosch FC.

It was back-to-back wins for Sundowns as they narrowly beat AmaZulu 1-0, with Khumo Mokoela’s first-half goal enough to move joint-top with Chiefs, with the latter having a superior goal difference. Vusumuzi Vilakazi’s Usuthu lost their first season match after three draws and two wins.

Chiefs could only manage a 0-0 draw with Stellies but kept their spot at the summit while Stellenbosch moved to third place.
