Chiefs’ DDC Striker Aims For 30 Goals

Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge striker Donay Jansen has set himself a target of scoring 30 goals this season.

The 20-year-old started the 2023/24 campaign on high note, as he already scored seven goals in seven matches, and he is currently the DDC top goalscorer.

After his good performances, he has been roped in to train with the Amakhosi senior side.

The Chiefs talisman is now five goals away from matching last season’s tally of 12 goals in the reserve league, but he aims to break Boitumelo Radiopane’s goalscoring record of 24 goals, which he set in the 2020/21 season.

“Last season I had set myself a target of double figures [10 goals], I achieved that and now I want more,” Jansen told SuperSport.

“The difference between last season and now will have to be consistency. I want to be more consistent.

“I want to try and score each game so I can break the record and score 30 goals. I know that is a huge task and I cannot do it alone, but we will work as a team to achieve that.”

Chiefs have dropped to third on the log after losing to Mamelodi Sundowns and drawing 1-1 with Moroka Swallows in their last two DDC fixtures.
