The DDC season will be coming to an end this weekend, with newly-crowned champions Kaizer Chiefs expected to be handed a guard of honour.
After dominating the DDC league for two seasons, Stellenbosch FC have been dethroned by Chiefs. The Cape Winelands side aim to finish in the second place when they face Bernard Parker’s TS Galaxy at Dobsonville Stadium early Sunday morning.
New Kings, Chiefs will look to end their season in style after they were confirmed as champions last weekend after beating Magesi FC 3-0. The wrap of the DDC season will be on Sunday, with Chiefs facing AmaZulu FC. and the KwaZulu-Natal-based side expected to hand them a guard of honour but surely keen to spoil the party.
The title race might be over, but the Golden Boot is still on and alive, with Orlando Pirates striker Siphamandla Msezana sitting top with 15 goals.
With Pirates done with their league games, Cape Town City striker Cee-Jay Bezuidenhout, who currently sits on 14 strikes, has a huge chance to clinch it when they face Marumo Gallants away from home.
Six players are sitting on 12 goals: Khumo Matlala of TS Galaxy, Cheswyn Philander of Stellenbosch, Naledi Hlongwane Kaizer Chiefs striker, Ntlonelo Bomelo of Richards Bay, and Bayanda Thabede of AmaZulu FC. All games will be played on Sunday morning.
