Kaizer Chiefs’ youngster Neo Bohloko has been named DStv Diski Challenge Player of the Season during the club’s awards gala.
Bohloko, 15, finished the DDC campaign on 13 goals, as the Amakhosi reserves ended the 2023/24 campaign in fifth position.
On Thursday, Chiefs announced that Bohloko was named the Player of the Season, while also walking away with the internal Golden Boot award.
“It was expected. Having said that, he has set records at only 15 years of age, which is remarkable,” DDC coach Vela Khumalo told the club’s media team.
“I am delighted for him and I think it is a good choice by the people who voted for him. One day we will see big things coming from him.”
Meanwhile, Takalani Mazhamba was named Goalkeeper of the Year, while Xolani Cossa won the Players’ Player of the Year award.
Khumalo added that he is happy that Mfundo Vilakazi and Wandile Duba made the jump to the senior team this season.
“Once again, I’m very happy to have two of our players moving up,” he continued.
“That makes six players in three years, which indicates that we are doing something right in the development academy.
“We are highly motivated to produce even more next season.”
