City Part Ways With DDC Coach

Cape Town City have parted ways with their DStv Diski Challenge head coach Ian Taylor.

Taylor was appointed as the head coach of the DDC side at the beginning of the season and he had a wonderful start after winning the first six games and claiming the top spot.

After a good run of results, the team dropped points in three consecutive games, one loss against Royal AM and two draws respectively with Supersport United and Lamontville Golden Arrows.

The former Cape Town All Stars head coach turned things around as he kept on pushing the team. City has lost just three games in the current season and they will all away from home.

They remain unbeaten at Malta Park, which is their home ground.

The 46-year-old was last with the club in the game against Richards Bay, where they lost 1-0.

He was not part of the team that faced Stellenbosch FC as Mark Mayambela and Byron Cottle led the team to a 3-2 victory and kept their title hopes alive.

iDiski Times learned that Ian Taylor has parted ways with Cape Town City and Mayambela and Cottle are expected to lead the side for the remainder of the season.

City will face Swallows on Sunday morning at Malta Park.
