DDC Title Challenge Continues

The DStv Diski Challenge title race continues this weekend with log leaders Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch FC all playing away from home.

The weekend kicks off with defending champions SuperSport United travel to Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium to face Lamontville Golden Arrows. Matsatsantsa are sitting sixth, 12 points behind Pirates and Sundowns.

Pirates will have a chance to extend their lead at the top when they face struggling Cape Town Spurs in the Mother City on Sunday morning. The Sea Robbers will look to complete the double over Spurs after beating them 3-1 late last year.

Sekhukhune United, who at one point were in a good position to contest for the title but a four-match winless run saw them drifting down to seventh place, have a task this weekend as they will be batting with third-placed Stellenbosch FC.

Meanwhile. Second-placed Sundowns’ defenders will have a big task this Sunday to look after DDC top goalscorer Ntlonelo Bomelo, when Richards Bay locks horns with Downs at the Chatsworth Stadium.

The weekend will be closed off with a Soweto Derby when Chiefs take on Moroka Swallows at the Tsakane Stadium.
