Stellenbosch FC needs just one point to secure their second DStv Diski Challenge title in three years, while Mamelodi Sundowns’ faith is not in their hands.
Sundowns start the weekend by facing Moroka Swallows on Saturday morning where they need to win with at least four unanswered goals to keep their chance of clinching the title.
Masandawana are sitting in second place with 63 points, three points behind Stellenbosch.
The Cape Winelands-side just need a draw in their fixture against Lamontville Golden Arrows to secure their title win or they could play their game as champions if Sundowns fail to beat Swallows. Stellies are currently on a six-match winning streak.
Sundowns midfielder Onela Rulwana is the player to watch as he has been superb for the side producing assists and scoring goals. On the Stellenbosch side, Thulani Mini has been on fire in recent weeks and he is expected to finish the season strong.
The golden boot race is also an interesting one with SuperSport United striker Thabang Mahlangu sitting on 17 goals, Cape Town City striker Jody Ah Shene on 16 goals, Richards Bay striker Ntlonelo Bomelo 15 goals and Kaizer Chiefs striker Neo Bohloko has 13 goals.
