Orlando Pirates have climbed back to the top of the DStv Diski Challenge log after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Golden Arrows on Saturday morning.
The Buccaneers were dethroned last week after losing 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns, but returned to winning ways thanks to a solitary goal by Azola Matrose.
They were overtaken by Stellenbosch FC on the log following their draw with Chippa United, but on Saturday Pirates collected an important three points to reclaim their lead – at least until Sunday.
Stellies face defending champions SuperSport United on Sunday and could climb back to the top of the log with a win. Meanwhile, Sundowns face bottom-placed Polokwane City and Cape Town City meet Richards Bay.
Saturday results:
Chippa United 0-3 AmaZulu, Wolfson Stadium
Kaizer Chiefs 3-3 Royal AM, FNB Stadium
Orlando Pirates 1-0 Golden Arrows, Rand Stadium
Sekhukhune United 0-0 TS Galaxy, Isak Steyl Stadium
Cape Town Spurs 1-1 Moroka Swallows, UWC Sports Stadium
