Stellenbosch FC look to try wrap the DStv Diski Challenge title this weekend if things go their way, but Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates aim to delay the party.
Round 28 of DDC starts on Saturday, with Sundowns welcoming Royal AM in the capital city in a crucial match that could decide the league. Sinethemba Badela and his lads cannot afford anything less than a win in this clash, as they aim to continue fighting for the title.
Pirates might be still in the race but it’s no longer in their hands and this weekend their title hopes could be over, depending how Stellies play. The Buccaneers are sitting third with 52 points, eight points behind the table-toppers. The Sea Robbers will battle with Richards Bay.
The Cape Winelands side could win the league this weekend, should Sundowns fail to win while they beat Chiefs on Sunday morning at Idas Valley in the DDC festival.
Stellies are on a four-match winning streak and they will face tough a tough Amakhosi side, who has caused a lot of problems for all of the title challengers.
Cape Town City forward Jody Ah Shene is currently leading the top goal-scorer charts with 16 goals, meanwhile, Ntlonelo Bomelo is sitting with 15 goals and SuperSport United striker Thabang Mahlangu is on 14 goals.
