Durban City have appointed former Moroka Swallows defender Ashraf Hendricks as their DDC coach, chairman Farouk Kadodia has confirmed to iDiski Times.
Hendricks has previously served as an assistant coach and also a co-coach at the now-defunct La Masia, who were competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The 41-year-old replaces Daine Klate, who departed shortly after the exit of the first-team coach Gavin Hunt, who had brought him to the club.
“Yeah, I can confirm to you that Ashraf Hendricks has been appointed as a head coach for DDC,” Kadodia told iDiski Times.
Durban City’s reserve side currently sit 12th on the league table with 13 points from 13 matches they accumulated under Klate’s guidance.
Hendricks’ appointment follows Sinethemba Badela’s arrival as the first-team head coach, succeeding Gavin Hunt.
Meanwhile, Ernst Middendorp has returned as technical director, a role he previously left earlier this season amid reports of a strained relationship with then-head coach Hunt.
