Khumalo Makes Title Claim After Derby Win

Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge head coach Vela Khumalo admitted that DDC league title is gone despite their Soweto Derby win and still seven games to go.

Amakhosi moved a point behind third-placed Orlando Pirates after beating them by 2-0 at Tsakane Stadium on Sunday.

But despite the victory over their archrivals, Khumalo seemed to have given up on the league title, with Chiefs remaining nine points behind table toppers Mamelodi Sundowns.

“Well, whatever comes, anything can still happen, but it is not really about winning the league we see that Sundowns is running with it,” Khumalo told SuperSport TV.

“We cannot deceive ourselves around it, we can see that. However, let’s give it our best shot and see where we can end but it’s always good that we produce.

“Like I said we want to produce quality, we want players that will stay up there, not players that will collapse. I think that is the main thing now, however we played well congratulations to our boys. I think our supporters are happy.”
