Khumalo Names 3 Chiefs Talents Who Could Break Through Soon

Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) side coach Vela Khumalo has named three players that he believes could breakt hrough soon from the development ranks.

Chiefs have in recent seasons been promoting players from their development structures, with the likes of Mfundo Vilakazi, Wandile Duba, Samkelo Zwane and Mduduzi Shabalala getting appearances in the first team.

Vilakazi, 18, has played two senior matches this season so far, Duba, 19, has played four games and scored one goal, Zwane, 22, featured in six encounters, while 20-year-old Shabalala played 12 across all competitions.

Khumalo told iDiski Times journalist Sinethemba Makonco in edition 146 of the newspaper that though they want to be competitive in the DDC, their other priority is to get players ready for promotion, naming some players he believes are the ones to look out for in the future.

“Neo [Bohloko] is only 15 years old and he is part of the next generation,” Khumalo told iDiski Times.

“We have plenty of them who are coming from our different ranks of development but at the moment because Neo has been scoring week in week out.

“There’s other players, the likes of Naledi [Hlongwane], there’s two good boys that people are going to see, there’s Khulumani [Ndamane].

“There are good things to happen.”
