Orlando Pirates have re-opened a three-point gap after beating Orbit College on Sunday, while Kaizer Chiefs extended their unbeaten run to five matches.
After Mamelodi Sundowns won yesterday and went level on points with Pirates, the Buccaneers needed to get a positive result this afternoon against Orbit College, and didn’t disappoint.
Pirates went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead, and they extended it deep in the second to make it 3-0 to seal the important victory.
Earlier, Chiefs beat Magesi FC 3-2 in a five goal thriller. Amakhosi extended their unbeaten run to five matches and moved to fifth place.
Down in Western Cape, Stellenbosch FC narrowly beat Chippa United by a late goal, and the Cape Winelands side remained in fourth place with 40 points after 23 games.
