Orlando Pirate beat Stellenbosch FC away from home to move six points clear at the top of the DStv Diski Challenge, while 10-men Kaizer Chiefs beat Lamontville Golden Arrows.
It was a tight contest in the Western Cape between former champions Stellenbosch FC and log leaders Pirates.
The Cape Winelands sides came to this game with aim of getting maximum points and keep their hopes of top four finish alive.
The first half ended goalless but Pirates eventually took the lead in the 67th minute via a penalty which was enough to seal maximum points.
The Buccaneers needed the win after 2-1 loss against Kaizer Chiefs last weekend which laid their title chances in jeopardy.
On the other side, 10-men Chiefs beat Lamontville Golden Arrows 2-1.
Amakhosi were reduced to 10 men just before the half-time break. But managed to take the lead in the 51st minute to make it 1-0.
Arrows equalized in the 66th minute but Chiefs restored the lead with eight minutes remaining in normal time.
