Pirates Remain Top Of The Table

Orlando Pirates remained at top of the DStv Diski Challenge table after hammering defending champions SuperSport United 3-0 on Saturday, while Stellenbosch put six pasts Chippa United in Gqeberha.

The Buccaneers bounced back to winning ways this morning, beating Matsatsantsa by 3-0. Gosiame Ngobeni opened the scoring for Pirates before Azola Matrose scored his first goal in the black and white, and Mohau Nkota sealed the deal by netting the third goal.

Stellies took a trip to Gqeberha, where they faced Chili Boys and hammered them by 6-1. Kean Johannesen scored a brace, Thulani Mini was on the scoresheet as well for the second successive weekend. Tall defender Tylon Smith, Kyle Bailey and Langelihle Phili completed the six goals. Both Pirates and Stellies are sitting on 35 points, but Bucs have the better goal difference.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Lamontville Golden Arrows finished off Saturday with an entertaining encounter, which produced four goals. Sinethemba Badela’s side is now three points behind Pirates and Stellenbosch.
