Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge coach Dillon Sheppard explained how he mastered the comeback win against Chippa United after going one man down.
Amakhosi fell behind to Luzuko Ngqina’s 23rd minute strike but Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi levelled matters in the 62nd minute. Vicky Mkhwana was then given his marching orders on the stroke of halftime, but Pheko Phago netted the winner in the 76th minute for a 2-1 win.

Sheppard explained after the game how he masterminded his side’s comeback and how happy he is for the boys to overturn the 1-0 to 2-1 to make it two wins out of two games.
“The first thing I said is we have to relax,” Sheppard said after the match.
“Take emotions out of it, we have to be calm and then after that fix the shape because obviously we one man down we have to fix the shape.
“We went into the back four, we played with Ntando [Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi] he got huge experience at the DDC level, we brought him there just to screen the defence, and then we went with a front three after that we executed the plan.
“We can’t have a plan if the players don’t [go] out there and show desire and hungriness and the willingness to go compete and that’s exactly what they did.
“You create chances then you score goals. A good win, I’m happy for the boys because they showed character today.”
Chiefs occupy second position behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
