Chiefs & Sundowns Starting XIs Announced

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting line-ups for the DStv Premiership at FNB Stadium this evening.

Amakhosi returned to winning ways five days ago, beating SuperSport United by 2-1 at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Chiefs are languishing in eighth place with 33 points after 25 games but Amakhosi last won a match at FNB Stadium two months ago when they beat Lamontville Golden Arrows 1-0.

A top-eight finish remains a priority for Cavin Johnson but they will have to overcome Sundowns this evening to not lose further ground.

A win for Chiefs would end Downs’ ‘Invincibles’ ambitions and push them to seventh place., but Masandawana haven’t lost any of their last 47 league matches.

Sundowns could clinch their seventh successive league title this evening, if they beat Chiefs at FNB Stadium, something they have done several times in the past few seasons.

These two sides faced each other 48 times, with Chiefs winning 17 matches, while Sundowns won 20 and 11 ended with draws.

However, in recent games, Sundowns are unbeaten in their last eight clashes, winning six – Chiefs last won a home match against Masandawana in April 2014.
