Chippa Pile More Misery on Chiefs

Chippa United have extended Kaizer Chiefs winless streak to four matches, as they defeated the grieving Amakhosi 2-0 in the DStv Premiership at the Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Bienvenu Eva Nga scored the opener with a powerful header from a thrown in the 20th minute, while Sinoxolo Kwayiba grabbed the winner 12 minutes later – a wonderful team goal.

Chiefs had earlier showed intention to get a goal first with Edmilson Dove wasting two chances in the opening five minutes.

Ranga Chivaviro also had two chances, one saved by Darren Johnson, who started in the Chippa goals in the absence of suspended Stanley Nwabali. Eva Nga also wasted an opportunity to get a brace moment before his side’s second goal, with only the goalkeeper to beat he shot over the bar.

In the second half Chippa continued their momentum with Ayabulela Konxqobe almost getting a third goal in the 59th minute. Four minutes later Chiefs a chance to pull one back but Johnson denied Christian Saile. The keeper made another save denying Dove in the 72nd minute.

The result sees Chiefs in eighth position with 30 points from 23 outings, while Chippa are a point away from the Soweto side but in 10th position from the same number of games.

Meanwhile, Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson had rung in seven changes to the team that started against Stellenbosch FC with only Bruce Bvuma, Pule Mmodi, Given Msimamgo and Dove the survivors from that encounter.
