CT Spurs & Pirates Starting XIs Announced

Cape Town Spurs and Orlando Pirates confirmed their starting line-ups for this evening’s DStv Premiership clash at DHL stadium.

Spurs are on a mission to end their eight-match losing streak when they will face a lukewarm Pirates side. The Urban Warriors find themselves sitting at the bottom of the with zero points after eight matches in 2023/24.

They have already taken steps to try and change the situation, with Northern Irishman Sean Connor and Vasili Manousakis taking over from Shaun Bartlett. The new technical team have lost one league match and got knocked out of the Carling Knockout Cup by Pirates.

Connor has received his work permit and will sit on the bench for the game for the first time

On the other side, the Buccaneers have dropped four points in their last two league games after a goalless draw with AmaZulu FC and a 1-1 draw with newly-promoted Polokwane City.

The Soweto giants find themselves in the bottom half of the league table, just three points away from the promotional playoffs spot and a massive 15 behind table toppers Mamelodi Sundowns. Pirates, though, still have three games in hand on some teams.

These two sides are facing each other for the first time in the league since Spurs name change.
