Esquivel – Why I Joined Sundowns From Argentina

Argentinian Matías Esquivel believes that joining Mamelodi Sundowns is the right step for his career.

The 24-year-old midfielder signed from Club Atlético Lanús, after an excellent campaign where he helped the team finish fourth in the Argentinian league.

Esquivel was unveiled by Sundowns on deadline day of the transfer window, and felt Sundowns’ ambition was an ideal fit for him.

“I am very happy to be here and joining this great club is the right step for my career,” Esquivel told Sundowns’ Digital Magazine.

“When my representatives informed me about the move to Mamelodi Sundowns, I knew that it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.

“The club’s ambition and success in recent years are truly impressive and I am eager to contribute to their continued achievements.

“My style of play aligns well with the team’s approach and I am excited about the prospect of working with my new teammates and contributing to the team’s success.

“I am here to give my best on the pitch and help this great club achieve its goals.

“Whether it’s in attack or on the wings, I am ready to adapt and contribute wherever the team needs me. I look forward to being part of the team’s exciting brand of football and making a positive impact during my time with the Yellow Nation.

“The warm welcome from both the Club and the fans has made me feel at home already. The facilities here are top-notch, reflecting the ambition and professionalism of Mamelodi Sundowns. I am eager to integrate into the team and make a positive contribution on and off the pitch.”
