Hunt Cries Foul Over Poor Officiating

SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt was furious at the match officials after dropping points from 2-0 lead against Lamontville Golden Arrows.

Matsatsantsa a Pitori were in the driving seat going to the break leading Lamontville Golden Arrows by 2-0 through goals scored by Ime Okon and Terrence Dzvukamanja.

But with 20 minutes remaining before the final whistle, Arrows pulled one back courtesy of Lungelo Nguse and it came even worse for the visitors when Gladwin Shitolo equalised for Abafana Bes’thende in the 82nd minute.

The course of the match and the officiating in particular left Hunt furious, as he felt the throw-in before the equaliser belonged to them.

“The second goal, it’s our throw-in, we scored a legitimate goal it was flagged offside, it was not offside, and we had a penalty shout at the end,” Hunt told the media.

“Yha, they came back, they came back at us but we should’ve won the game. They had three chances but the second goal is a throw in for us.

“Threw against the guy, it comes off the guy, we run the ball, they take the ball. They throw it. We’re all out of shape. It’s disappointing.”
