In this week’s edition, iDiski Times has named its PSL Team of the 2023/24 Season, as voted for by all iDiski journalists.
The criteria was for the entire 2023/24 campaign, including all competitions that South African teams were involved in.
Six players were unanimously voted for by all of iDiski’s journalists, with those being Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena, Patrick Maswanganyi, Lucas Ribeiro, Tshegofatso Mabasa and Iqraam Rayners.
And so there were a few positions that were heavily contested, including all four of the defensive positions.
While players from seven different clubs received votes, the final XI was only made up of players from three teams – Mamelodi Sundowns (6), Orlando Pirates (2) and Stellenbosch (3) – who also happen to be the three clubs who won silverware in 2023/24.
Ten other players also received votes from our journalists – Deano Van Rooyen, Thabang Matuludi, Aubrey Modiba, Tapelo Xoki, Ime Okon, Jayden Adams, Kamohelo Mokotjo, Sanele Barns, Relebohile Mofokeng and Devin Titus — and all get mentions for being considered.
