Johnson On Latest Petersen Mistake

Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Calvin Johnson has protected Brandon Petersen after the goalkeeper’s blunder against Lamontville Golden Arrows.

Johnson started his new journey at Chiefs on a bad note after 2-1 defeat against on-form Golden Arrowns at Mpumalanga Stadium. The KwaZulu-Natal based side took the lead inside 20 minutes in the first half after a blunder by Petersen.

The former Bidvest Wits goalkeeper has been in the headlines in past matches for the wrong reasons, this includes two mistakes against Mamelodi Sundowns that cost them three points and a place in the MTN8 final.

Speaking with the media after his first defeat as interim coach, Johnson explained that he hasn’t seen any mistakes from Petersen before, therefore he will come back and he will protect him.

“I haven’t seen his other mistakes,” Johnson told iDiski Times.

“If it’s happened before, then we gonna try and fix it but the way I look at it now he is gonna come back, he made a mistake and that’s the first mistake I looked at it. Every mistake now is my mistake.

“I take the blame for everything that happened today, everything you asked me about yesterday I wasn’t here.”
