Kadodia Breaks Silence On Buying Swallows Rumours

Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has dismissed rumours that he is interested in buying the PSL status of Moroka Swallows.

The Team of Choice got relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season after spending more than a decade in top-flight football.

United finished 15th on the log and got relegated via promotional play-offs after losing the deciding game against Cape Town Spurs.

After the first half of the 2023/24 season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, United see themselves sitting 11th with 20 points, 10 points behind table toppers Orbit College FC.

The KwaZulu-Natal-based side already reacted to their indifferent start and recently parted ways with head coach Zipho Dlangalala.

With Swallows making headlines due unpaid salaries and financial problems, there have been rumours that the club could be sold and Maritzburg United were said to be frontrunners to buy the status, but Kadodia dismissed those rumors when speaking to iDiski Times.

“We haven’t had any engagements or discussions about that. Swallows must sort out their own life,” he told iDiski Times.

“It’s mid-season now, it is quite difficult to get franchise right now to be fair to you.

“At the end of the season, yes, we can look at it. For now we will try gain promotion from Motsepe Foundation Championship.”
