Kaizer Motaung Jr. has made a promise to Kaizer Chiefs founder and chairman Dr. Kaizer Motaung, saying they will do everything they can to overcome the turmoil of the last eight years.
Amakhosi celebrated the induction of Motaung Snr. into the South African Hall of Fame, inviting several of the club’s former players and legends to a celebratory lunch on Thursday.
With iDiski Times‘ Lorenz Kohler in attendance, several family and club members expressed their admiration and pride for Dr. Motaung, with Kaizer Jr. saying they work very hard to turn his club back into an “institution of excellence”.
“You wanted this institution to be an institution of excellence. We know in the last eight years there’s been a lot of hard work and turmoil, but the excellence that you’ve begun needs to be found again,” he stated.
“We promise from every person who is privileged and honoured to still wear that badge that we give everything we can, to do your legacy and the legacy of every single legend justice and respect it deserves.
“We thank you very much for the genuine person you are and for the impacts you’ve had on this country, the world and also for years to come.
“We thank you for your impact. We thank you, we love you and we wish you many, many years ahead so that you can contribute to the fabric of this country.”
