Makhubedu Confident Mbesuma & Co Can Fire Up Sekhukhune Again

Sekhukhune United interim coach MacDonald Makhubedu says they have the talent and quality in the squad and technical team to get the club back to their best.

After the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Orlando Pirates, Sekhukhune have been limited to just one goal in their last six games in all competitions.

And with Brandon Truter relieved of his duties as head coach during their dire run, it won’t come easier after the FIFA International break as CAF Confederation Cup group stage fixture arrives for Babina Noko.

“When you check the players we have, especially the attacking players, I’m not saying they are the best in the league but they are up there with the best, we have everything inside the field, everything you wish to have as a coach,” he said after the game.

“Our striker coach, finishing coach, Collins Mbesuma has been working hard with the analysts – and the very same players who were scoring before Mncube, Ohizu, Mokwana, they are the ones who have been playing in these six games.

“I don’t believe in luck but I believe the time will come where they will get their feet right – but they have been trying, you could see, when we played Arrows, we had 13 shots on goal, maybe six on target, Polokwane City we had more, last two games TS Galaxy we tried everything but the ball just didn’t hit the net.

“I don’t know for now, but we’ll go back and make sure we work on that but the very same players who were scoring for the team [then] are the ones who are playing so I don’t know what was happening within these six games.

“But the free-scoring Sekhukhune United is the same one that is playing now – we will get it right, it’s game number 11, we’ll lift their confidence, remind them how good they are and revisit some of the things we did before when they were scoring goals, they will get it right.”

Sekhkhune are currently 13th in the league, with 11 points from 11 games, with eight goals scored and 11 conceded.
