Mntambo Return Provides Sekuhkune Boost

Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has spoken about the progress made by midfielder Linda Mntambo since his return to action this year.

Mntambo returned from what was labelled a career-threatening injury back in October 2022 in the match against Richards Bay where he also scored.

The Ba Bina Noko captain has played four matches in all competitions since his comeback and has a goal and one assist.

Seema says the 34-year-old has come a long way and though he is happy with the progress he is still not rushing to play him 90 minutes yet.

“Over 18 months without playing it is expected,” said Seema.

“We are happy with his progress so he is going to come. We are happy with his progress we are not going to put him under any pressure but yeah he is doing well.”

Sekhukhune have managed three league wins in a row in 2024 with Seema adding that they are taking it one game at a time because the games are too tight.

“One game at a time because I think even today after the game we are not going to move where we are. So we are just taking it one game at a time.  You see the 1-0 scores that show how close it is. The other teams can get a goal and equal. So it’s a work in progress.”
