Mofokeng Breaks Silence On Europe Rumours

Orlando Pirates midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng has commented on rumours linking him with a move abroad, saying any interest must be directed at Dr. Irvin Khoza.

Mofokeng spoke to reporters after Pirates’ successful defense of their Nedbank Cup title against Mamelodi Sundowns in Mbombela, in an interview carried in the latest edition of iDiski Times.

The teenage sensation who scored the winner in the Ke Yona cup final, had trials at English Premiership side Wolverhampton Wanderers in October last year.

He has also been linked with an interest from Levante FC in Spain and Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers among other sides. He said anything pertaining to his future should be directed to the chairman of the club.

“I don’t know anything about teams overseas looking at me,” Mofokeng told reporters.

“I am playing for Pirates and I am only focusing on Pirates. If teams want me they will have to speak to the chairman, I don’t know anything. I am only playing for Pirates, I am not focusing on the rumours.”

Asked how the experience with Wolves in October was, the 19-year-old trickster said it wasn’t anything different from what he’s used to except for the facilities that side.

“Football is football – it is the same,” added Mofokeng.

“Whether you are playing in the Premier League or in the PSL, football is the same, nothing changes. It’s just the facilities they have there are different from here but everything else is the same.”
