Pirates With Triple Boost Ahead Of Usuthu Rematch

Orlando Pirates have received a triple boost ahead of their rematch with AmaZulu just a week after their exciting 4-2 win over Usuthu in Durban.

The Buccaneers booked their ticket in the Nedbank Cup semi-final after beating AmaZulu iat Moses Mabhida Stadium last week.

Both teams will meet each other again on Saturday in the DStv Premiership, with Pirates fighting for second place and Pablo Franco Martin’s side wanting to finish in the top eight.

Ahead of the fixture, Pirates received a triple boost as, with centre-backs Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki returning from suspension and Bafana Bafana striker Evidence Makgopa also back in training.

“Defensive duo Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki are again in contention for places in the match-day squad after both players missed out on the trip to Durban through suspension,” the club stated.

“Another boost for Pirates is the looming return of striker Evidence Makgopa, who is back at training after over a month on the sidelines.”

Pirates currently sit in third place with 37 points – three behind second-placed Stellenbosch FC, while Usuthu are 12th, two points behind Kaizer Chiefs in eighth position.
