PSL Make Chiefs-Sundowns Announcement

The Premier Soccer League have confirmed that the date for Kaizer Chiefs against Mamelodi Sundowns has changed, while also rescheduling Masandawana’s clashes with TS Galaxy.

Sundowns gruelling schedule has seen them play eight games since 30 March, averaging one every 3.1 days in addition to their extensive travels on the continent.

As a consequence the PSL has now rearranged Sundowns league clash with Chiefs, moving it from 30 April to 2 May.

In addition, Sundowns’ fixture against Galaxy, which had been postponed due to the club being involved in a deadly car accident, has been rescheduled to 29 April, while the reverse fixture also got a new date and will now be played on 28 May – three days after the official final match day of the season.

Sundowns have gone 13 points ahead of second-placed Stellenbosch FC, meaning they need two more wins to be crowned champions for a seventh successive season. If they would indeed win both games, they could celebrate the DStv Premiership title after their match against Amakhosi.
