Seema On Sundowns – They Have A Lot Of Players…

Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema is not entertaining thoughts that Mamelodi Sundowns might be tired ahead of their DStv Premiership match at Loftus Stadium tonight (19:30).

The defending champions have just returned from Tunisia, where they lost the first leg of their semi-final clash with Esperance, which was their first loss in 22 matches across all competitions.

They are seemingly running away with the domestic league title, sitting in pole position with 53 points, 10 points from second-placed Stellenbosch with three games in hand.

Sekhukhune have also enjoyed a good run and unbeaten in eight outings, sitting in fourth position with 39 points, while looking to consolidate their place in the top 8.

Seema says all he and his charges are doing is focusing on themselves because Sundowns’ quality and record this season speaks for itself.

“You can’t expect that they will be tired,” said Seema.

“We are expecting a very difficult game, especially because we’ll be playing away, so definitely we are not saying that we will find them tired.

“We know that Sundowns is a good team, champs in Africa, they have been doing well, they know how to manage their squad and they have a lot of players.

“We have to look at ourselves at the moment, try to prepare ourselves and make sure that we are ready to take that game. But if we focus more on Sundowns and neglect ourselves, that team hasn’t lost so we’ll be making a big mistake.

“Sundowns is Sundowns. They have been beating everyone, they drew some matches and they haven’t lost, so it’s going to be one of those games that you know it’s going to be a difficult one.

“They have been log leaders since day one, we are not even closer to them. We are somewhere in the middle of the table, so we are just trying to take it one game at a time.”
