September Admits Risk Of Losing Emerging Chippa Star

Chippa United co-head coach Thabo September admits they are likely to lose promising playmaker Aviwe Mqokozo eventually.

Mqokozo, 22, has featured18 times for the first team since earning promotion from their DStv Diski Challenge squad, with two goals and two assists.

And the skilful attacker is starting to turn heads, as he gradually starts to make strides in cementing his place under the guidance of September and Kwanele Kopo.

“No it’s not going to be long, he won’t stay long, I think if you see Tito at Pirates, you know left-footers are special, they are special players if they are playing in advanced [attacking] positions,” September said.

“Left-footers, it’s something special. Daine [Klate] was a different kind of special but left-footers always give you problems. We just want to build him up for next season, so I don’t see him staying long at Chippa because of the quality he’s got.

“We want him to grow mentally and physically. He will be a good asset for Chippa in the last three games and also for next season.”

When asked about their future at the club under a notoriously trigger-happy owner Siviwe Mpengesi, September stated boldly: “He’s got a bigger vision and right now I think we’re part of that vision, so that’s the word, we’re part of that vision for next season.”
