What Riveiro Told Mbatha After Surprise Pirates Move

Orlando Pirates midfielder Thalente Mbatha says he is inspired by the words of his coach Jose Riveiro each time he steps out in black and white.

Mbatha has admitted that he has found his loan move to the Buccaneers a surprising one as he wasn’t even a regular starter at his mother club. Mbatha is on loan from SuperSport United since January having struggled for game time in Pretoria. He has played five matches for the Sea Robbers in all competitions so far and had a positive impact.

He told iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu in edition 146 of the newspaper that Riveiro’s belief in his abilities has stuck with him and have been good for his confidence. .

“He told me that this is a big team,” Mbatha told iDiski Times.

“He told me that as much as there’s so much experience you need to learn but he bought me because he believes that I can add value to the team.

“And that’s what I told myself that if there are people out there who still believe in my talent I should also believe in myself. So it’s something that boosts me a lot in confidence.”
