Zwane Happy For Mashiane

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane says he was happy for Happy Mashiane’s important performance off the bench that helped his side beat Maritzburg United in the Nedbank Cup last-32.

Mashiane came off the bench in his side’s 2-0 extra-time win and set up the second goal by Ashley Du Preez.

It was only Mashiane’s fourth appearance for the Amakhosi this season, but Zwane has highlighted his importance to the team, saying he has been unlucky with injuries.

“I’m so much happy for Happy,” he told reporters.

“He’s been struggling with injuries as well, like many other players.

“Whenever we thought he was ready then he’s out injured because it’s part of the game but I was glad to see him adding value.

“I was glad to see him performing like he did and I just hope that it’ll boost his confidence as well going forward.

“Obviously he’s always been part and parcel of the team and we’re looking forward to seeing more great performances like in the last game.”

Mashiane came through the club’s youth ranks and made his debut in January 2019. Overall, he has represented the Glamour Boys 43 times since, scoring four goals and setting up three more.
