Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has told the club’s board to land Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, a report has claimed, according to Daily Mail.
Gyokeres has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford amid the club’s recent woes and achieved some amazing numbers under Amorim during the pair’s time at Sporting Lisbon.

Both Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee could leave the club in the January transfer window, with the English international having made it clear that he wants a new challenge while Zirkee has really struggled to strike a regular starting berth since his summer move.
The Red Devils suffered yet another defeat as they went down 2-0 to Newcastle United – their ninth of the league campaign, and Amorim admitted that he would be unable to improve his squad, saying: “We don’t have that possibility in January.”
Gyokeres on the other hand fuelled speculation of a move to the EPL outlining his desire to play in the English top-flight having previously turned out for Championship outfit Coventry.
“Of course, it [moving to Sporting] was different, because I had the goal of playing in the Premier League,” he told Swedish Daily.

“It started to look more and more like it was the right thing to do – play in a top team and have more chances during games.
”In the end, it seems like it was the best choice for me.”
