Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has jokingly claimed that to avoid UEFA competitions, he would be prepared to coach a team near the bottom of the table in England, when he leaves Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Mourinho was facing his former side for the first time since leaving England as they earned a 1-1 draw in the Europa League on the night, with the Portuguese also making headlines after being sent to the stands for remonstrating Fenerbahce’s appeals for a second half penalty, which was waved away by referee Clement Turpin.
Mourinho said he would have to leave Fenerbahce instead to avoid coaching teams in European competitions after his sending off.
“I think the best thing I have to do is when I leave Fenerbahce, I go to a club that does not play UEFA competitions,” he said, according to Daily Mail.
“If any club in England from the bottom of the table needs a coach in two years, I am ready to go. I don’t want to say anything more about it.
“I want to speak about the game, we played absolutely fantastic against a team, in theory, from a superior level.”

“The Special One” further added that since his red card in the Conference League final against Sevilla a year ago, he has decided to rather keep it going than complaining.
“If I appeal, I will get six months’ ban, so there is nothing to do,” Mourinho added.
“Since Sevilla-Roma final, there is nothing to do. It is what it is.
“That’s why I say if the future is maybe better without European competitions, so I don’t get upset. It is what it is.”
