Liverpool coach Arne Slot has insisted Mohamed Salah’s latest comments about his future have not distracted him neither the player ahead of their big clash against Real Madrid.
Salah told the media after his two-goal show against Southampton that he hasn’t received a formal contract offer despite his current contract expiring by the end of the season.
The Egyptian winger famously stated, he’s “more in than out” at the moment, with Slot playing on the phrase when being asked about Salah’s comments.
“The only thing I can is, when I look at my line-ups Mo is more in than out,” he told English media, as per Sky Sports.
“That quote I can give you.”

Slot also brushed off the notion that Salah’s comments are a distraction at the club ahead of their UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid.
“We want his numbers to be where they’re at at the moment because those are the numbers Mo always has had and still has, so that’s the positive thing,” he added.
“I don’t think he’s distracted at all, I haven’t seen it after the United game where he had some comments, he just kept on scoring.
“I didn’t see anything today, he’s just fully focussed on the game tomorrow.
“I think think these kind of things are inside here and all over the media and all the fans talk about it, which is completely normal.
“But if you would’ve been at the AXA (training centre) today, I don’t think any player talked about it – at least not when I was there.
“Maybe they always give each other a little bit of stick, maybe they did this now as well. But players are also focussed on the short-term and that’s Madrid and Man City.
“By the time Mo’s contract is extended players don’t look at it that way, we as a club do, players don’t.
“So I don’t think there is any distraction at all for him, for the players and definitely not for me because I worked yesterday on preparing the team in the best possible way and there was not one time in my mind where I thought ‘oh I’m sitting here tomorrow talking about Mo’.”
